I actually drove the two hours to the Connecticut location of the Sonett on the BAT auction site. I was allowed to take it for a great country road drive. It was absolutely stunning and a great driver (I have a 1974 Sonett that I am working on). The car up for auction while not a factory restoration was done beautifully and artfully and it drove perfectly. Every thing was done well on the car. My friend who was with me and is usually not impressed with Sonetts said if there ever was a perfect one that one seemed like one. I was a very active bidder on this. I had bid as high as $6300 (I think it was) and was then quickly out bid near the end of the bidding. I was about bid again when several small incremental bids came in and then bingo someone bid $10K and then someone bid $10,250 minutes later close to the deadline. I fully expected the 10K bidder to respond but they didn't and it sold for $10,250 - a bargain I think. I decided if I put half that into my Sonett it would be in great condition. So I stopped bid. It was a beautiful car and well worth it.
