Why eliminate relays ?

The addition of relays to route the actual power to the headlights is definitely an improvement in my opinion. The use of relays gives direct power to the headlights and removes the actual 'switch' from carrying the headlight power. Even when LED lights might reduce power needed it seems like work with no advantage to wire around the relays.
