II/V4, with filler in the 'fender', or III with filler in the 'sail panel'?
On my prior V4 I found that inserting the dispensing nozzle with the handle and hose towards the front of the car, then 'hooking' the nozzle inward to follow the tank's filler neck thus pivoting the dispensing handle upward was the least spill inducing method. I always had to use a slow fill rate.
On my present II I don't need to do that contortion and can ramp up to full flow rate after a few seconds. What's different? Dunno. I did replace the vent hose confirming no kinking when re-installing the tank. I can hear the fuel splash sound change in this one as the level rises and can slow the dispense rate as the pitch frequency increases.
I haven't had a III so can't advise.
