Re: Side Window Weatherstripping Replacement? Posted by elanwannabe [Email] In Reply to: Side Window Weatherstripping Replacement?, BradW |
Hi BradW:
I have 4 pieces of information to relay to you. However, I haven't used any of the following. Always check prices.
1. First, in an old Jack Ashcraft catalog (http://www.subrew.com>weatherstrip>Sonett III), you will see he calls out the door and the (vent) wing window in the same kit, #4022. That tells me they have the same profile. (I have not verified this)
2. Search on this bulletin board: "Re: Sonett door weather seals", by Paul Z, dated 12/4/2008. He calls out Restoration Specialties part # BZ617. If you click on the photo of his car, you will see
it is immaculate. It seems I read somewhere that the R.S. owner's dad drove a vintage Saab. So maybe they will be more responsive in answering questions about a 50+ year-old "foreign" car with a production of only about 10,000, rather than laugh and hang up.
3. Look at Vintage Saab Enthusiasts-Open Forum (http://www.groups.io/g/vSAAB) from 6/3/2015, by author Mike Adams (posting #53597): Mike calls out AmeriSeal 13480, available down the street at Advance Auto Parts.
4. Finally, a recent posting (10/7/2025) on the facebook Saab Sonett III & V4 Owners page, Jeff Mueller calls out Precision Rubber Parts UW133-25 that he acquired from agc (autoglasscomponents). When I googled that I didn't like what I saw. However, this item is available at CarParts.com and jegs.com.
I hope this helps you start your search. Good luck.
Stuart
