Both my Sonett's came with the big chunky bumper ('73 and '74). Does yours have that style, or the earlier style with the small bumper?
Speaking for the later style, yes- the bumper stays slide into the the two rectangular channels, one on each side and are fastened with two bolts each. They protrude through the fiberglass nose an inch or so and the big bumper attaches to the stay with a bolt one each side. There's also a little tab on the top of each stay and a small bolt goes through, attaching the nose to the stay. They would be simple to fabricate.
I don't have a spare to take measurements. I might be able to get a picture of one sticking out through the fiberglass nose.
