While this is just mindless kicking around of the braincells I was considering doing the same thing. I have 4 RX-7s and have been looking for a Sonett III to put one in. I talked to a few people and the general concenses is that it would work but with the amount of torque that would be in place with either a 12A or 13B, you would be better off with a tube chassis. again, none of this is fact, just what I was able to get out of a few people that have messed with them in the past. The other issue is the transmission. it would have to be adapted as the RX-7 transmission is way too long and large to fit under the Sonett. Another Issue you have to look at is body. The heat from a 12a is intense and would make the nice fiberglass front end on a sonett look like toasted oats in no time. Also there is the issue of exhaust. you would have to go with something like the racing beat exhaust and alot of custom cutting and reshaping would have to be done. A standard exhaust would melt down at the temps that the 12A produces.
