You could have the line from the fuel tank clogged up or enough rust and gunk in the fuel tank to clog the line. If you have a safe way to do it you could blow air in the fuel line from the engine compartment back to the tank. If it is open you would hear the air coming out in the tank. If it is clogged, the air could blow the crud back out of the line and get you running again but you will have the same problem again later unless you get the tank cleaned out.
You could have a dead fuel pump. Most folks on this board will recommend you install an electric fuel pump to replace the mechanical one (search this board for electric fuel pump and you will find lots of sources and types available). A piece of fuel line run from the suction side of the mechanical pump to a small can of gas would tell you if the pump is actually pulling gas. Again, take precautions to do all of these safely.
