I know some Fords use an inertia shutoff switch that stops the fuel pump when a crash occurs but I don't know if they are available for aftermarket electric fuel pumps. After reading the restoration magazine articles and also reading many posts on this site about the fuel inlet physically separating from some carbs I am almost afraid to attempt an electric fuel pump on my 96. Of course the inlet separating from the carb would happen with an electric or a manual pump.
