Nah, Chaz. The Goldwing has an integrated transmission. The idea I think is to use that one. There are some issues, like the GW is rear drive, but I think you could stuff a Quaife diff designed for a mid/rear car behind the GW motor/transmission. The kit car guys do that kind of stuff all the time. Plus the GW engine transmission is pretty stout, you see those things set up as a trike towing a trailer no problem. I don't think the sonett weight is going to be an issue at all. It will be a little tricky getting the final drive ratio right, i bet.
One piece of advice, you can get some more grunt out of that motor, but the GW boards will tear you up if you try and ask them. Now, the Valkyre/Rune owners on the other hand will be happy to help you out. You might be able to get some parts and advice from the trike community as well.
In short, its a lot of work, and won't be cheap...also, if you leave the GW motor stock, you're basically going to be at the same dyno numbers as what you could do if you did up the stock motor...and that's a lot less work. So, yes I think you've lost it completely. No I've never really heard of anyone doing this before. But if you managed to get a good car with a bad engine, and you have the GW for a steal...why not? It'll be fun. You're not in Texas are you, I'd love to check out the work...
