and hmm... This cylinder is made by Girling. It is longer than the original. I paid 120.00 for the master, hoses, barb fitting for the hose and fork that attaches to the pedel I see two possible problems...
One, the slave cylinder shaft diameter..the area that goes through the bulkhead seams a good bit thicker on the aftermarket. Second. The pushrod seams longer than the original. I THOUGHT I WOULD NOT HAVE TO MODIFY!
This is going to be a p.i.t.a type of job. I curled my upper body and forced it into the space between the front seat and beneath the dashboard. I emerged my head like a rodent, and opened my eyes.. Geez Saab friends, something tells me the job shall be nasty. I then opened the hood door, and force my hand in the area where the disassmebly shall take place...man, my hand barely fit..I was just able to touch the master cylinder. I am just hoping that there is better access through the inner wheel well aperature.
Has anyone used this aftermarket clutch master cylinder? If so, may someone give an opinion if indeed the bulkhead oriface needs to be enlarged in order for the master to fit.
It will only be me tomorrow, so I shall remove it myself less any aid. ( I hope that can be done.
