In my opinion, published Sonett valuations are grossly out-of-date. Based on 55 market transactions, I have compiled an updated price index for Sonett III and Sonett V4/II models. Not enough data is available to create a separate V4 and II index. To see the price index, go to http://fairislepress.com/archive/images/Sonetts/sonettprice.jpg

These values are more appropriate for insurance valuation purposes. Condition, of course, makes a huge difference; a Sonett III parts car is worth an average of only $1,017 but a top concourse example is worth over $30k.

You can enter your own Sonett data at http://fairislepress.com/archive/priceguide.php - and this will help keep the index updated. All this data is free for everyone to access.

Sonett price appreciate appears to be about 5% a year, and there is an average 72% premium for Sonett II/V4 models over the Sonett III.

The valuation chart (see link above) is based on 6 condition classifications from "parts car" to "show" or concourse quality.
