89 900S loss of reverse and 5th [saabnet.com]
Posted by Bruce Church - http://saabnet.com/tsn/forms/e.php3 (more from Bruce Church - http://saabnet.com/tsn/forms/e.php3) on Mon, 20 Sep 2004 21:27:05

MyÊ89 900S lost the ability to shift into both reverse and
5th gear today. I was edging into a tight parking space
when she refused to go back into reverse. I suspect
that I have a problem with the linkage. IÊdisassembled
the shift leverÊand discovered that the centerÊpin has a
definite bend to it. Is thatÊcorrect?ÊÊAs far asÊI can tell
fromÊpictures in the Bentley manual the center pin should
be straight. That might be the source of my difficulties.

Can anyone set me straight?

Thanks,
Bruce Church
