Wet Weather Problem
Posted by Jonathan Freidin (more from Jonathan Freidin) on Tue, 26 Sep 1989 13:23:42
I've got a problem that I can't lick.Whenever the right wheel goes through a deep (couple of inches) puddleat any reasonable speed (> 35 m.p.h.), the engine or transmission orsomething in the power train begins to run rough for a period of time(~ 2 minutes). The fact that it is water related suggests an ignition relatedproblem.I have:Visually inspected the intake and ignition systems multiple times.Replaced all of the ignition components (spark plugs, distributor cap, secondary ignition wires) as recommended.Looked for any holes in the wheel well (taped up two from a previouslyinstalled Chapman alarm).Used spray ignition sealer. The hood lock and kill switch of the Chapman system are stillinstalled.Haven't a clue.Jonathan FreidinKendall Square Research Corp.jonathanno39sdcx6spamx782ksr.comharvard!ksr!jonathan
