I sincerely doubt oil temp is your problem. I lived through one of these electrical 'glitches' with my '86 SPG, finally giving up on solving the problem myself. Eventually, even the dealer was reduced to swapping in parts until the problem went away. In my case, there was a short in the coil which only manifested with a hot engine. Good luck!
