The Australian spec 2.1 was under 20 hp more powerful, and hardly any
different to the 2.0.  However, the 5 spd gearbox was strengthened and
tweaked to try and fix the pinion bearing problem.  It would seem SAAB were
not entirely successful in this regard.  Apart from these changes, there
were interior modifications ie. dash dials and background changed, different
steering wheel etc... and a new range of alloy wheels.

Anyone else know any more?
