replacement Brake pads? [saabnow]

Subject: replacement Brake pads?
=================
I'm down to 25% on my front pads (2002 9-3). I replaced the factory pads no39sdcx6spamx782
18,000 milesÊwith EBC Green's -- not because they were worn out -- but Êin
hopes of eliminating the black dust that accumulated within the first block
of driving after cleaning the wheels. The EBC's are 'a little better' -- but
not by much. I now have 30,000 mile on the car and I've eaten through 75% of
the EBC's in 12,000 milesÊ(they are a softer, grippier pad).

My brake shope is recommending Metalmasters as a replacement. Does anyone
have any experience with these pads, or can you recommend a pad the greatly
reduces dust and still maintains adequate braking action? I live in AZ, so
resistance to heat is paramount, and effectiveness in rain is not. They
also claim that ceramic pads WILL warp the rotors, so don't even go there....

Also, as the rotors are NOT warped in any way, they say that I can just
replace the pads again (which isÊwhat we did with the EBC's). The rotors are
certainly thick enough (eyeballing and with micrometer). Is there any reason
I need to replace them, as the factory dealer claims? Thanks in advance for
your suggestions & comments --
