Rainex also will cause chattering with the wipers. Laquer thinner will
remove that from the glass -- but DO NOT GET THAT ON THE PLASTIC TRIP OR
PAINT -- use sparingly -- apply to the cloth first.

The other thing I do occasionally is spray windex liberally on the
windshield and scrape with a single edge razor blade (carefully). Then spray
again and wipe down. This is a great way to remove tree sap, etc.
