Talk about tipping your hand... you NEVER tell the sales people more than they need to know... the more info they have, the more they'll use it against you for leverage. Having sold cars for a 'living', I can tell you that by telling them that the other dealer was going to try to do a swap for their car was a bad thing to do (I'm trying to be nice in my choice of words.) They don't have to give another dealer a car off their lot. As for them not trading to Carter, but trading it to Spokane, that's normal. If Spokane asked them for it first (that is, if it's legit) then they won't break that swap for a closer dealer, as they have nothing to lose. However they WILL break it to sell it retail themselves, since they'll make money on it. When they trade it out, the most they'll make on it is the dealer holdback.
