Update: I'm now willing to treat this as a 'misunderstanding' assuming they can release the car. Turns out Barrier have a 2nd white one that just arrived there yesterday and the Spokane dealer took their hold off the 1st one - I had called them about a trade-in price on my car and they put a pre-emptive hold on it (weird because I hadn't discussed color even....) which of course is now released. Barrier also knew that I was the prospective customer in Spokane....
The bad taste in my mouth from dealing with Barrier remains though, because I gave them ample opportunity to do a fair deal. When they figured out I _would_ actually go somewhere else, rather than stepping back, they tried to make it difficult.
Maybe other people are used to dealing with car dealers like this, but I expected more professionalism and integrity.
As the guy at the Spokane dealer said 'I hope you can get your car soon because this should all be about enjoying your new 9-5'.

Now some actual Saab content: the charcoal interior of the 2000 9-5 is 'interesting'. There are at least three shades of gray in there!!
As well as the autodimming mirror, the trim is a little better, with leather on the door inserts of the SE.
Saab purists will be annoyed that the 9-5 SE is only available with the V6t engine, but there is a 'premium package' available for the base 2.3l although I believe it still misses out on some knick knacks.
The $1k owner loyalty rebate ended in September. There is still a $3500 rebate on 99 model 9-5 wagons though.
Saab is also offering $400 towards vehicle tabs (about 45%) in Washington until Jan 1 when the new '$30' tabs go into effect.
