Grinding when downshifting
Posted by scottb2460 (more from scottb2460) on Wed, 30 Jun 1999 23:08:13
Hey gang,
I have a 92 900 5speed turbo and my wife advises me that most of the time when she downshifts into second gear it makes a grinding sound. Since I haven't noticed it and usually don't downshift into 2nd over 30-35mph, I decided to see what she's talking about. I did notice what she was describing. Didn't do it all the time, but about 1/3 of the time. Downshifting into all other gears was fine and when I aggressively downshift. I did have the 90k service and changed out the gearbox/diff oil to synthetic today, but she claims this has been going on prior to todays service. Anybody have experience with this? Appreciate any feedback. Scott
