Removing front shocks
Posted by Bill Harrison (more from Bill Harrison) on Tue, 22 Feb 2000 09:41:56
Hello everyone, I have a 1987 Saab 900 Turbo, and I am having a problem removing the front shocks. They are not only difficult to get too, but I cant figure out any way to hold the shaft from spinning while I turn the Nuts on top. The manual I have is really no help, it just says 'Remove bolts and nuts, remove shock'. I can see there is a small notch in the top of the shock, a shock tool could be used to hold it here, but then there is no WAY that I could get a normal wrench on the nuts, especially on the drivers side. There just isnt any room. If any of you out there who have done this have any pointers, please let me know. It sounds like a simple job, but I would rather not spend time trying to 'reinvent the wheel', and learn from others who have done it.
Thanks, Bill Harrison billharrisonno39sdcx6spamx782netzero.net
