I recently began hearing that "foghorn" type noise under exactly the same conditions: braking while reversing. The wet rotor comment was interesting because the last time I heard it, it had been raining. I suppose I've now heard the noise 3-4 times however I can't remeber the weather conditions the other 2-3 times. BTW mine is a 2003 Vector 6spd with about 8900 miles, delivered in May, 2003. (Boy, that year went by fast). Anyway, the noise is very similar to braking noises I've heard over the years from many diffrernt cars I've owned and/or driven. It sounds as if one has their foot on the gas while braking. There's that point when the brake is barely touching the drum or the rotor. Anyway, I don't smell anything burning, the car still stops when it's supposed to stop and I don't hear anything unusual when reversing without braking. I'll mention it when I bring it in for the first service but given that it appears to be intermittant, my guess is the service rep will tell me that he can't hear anything.
As for the class action suit: What harm has been caused?
