I wouldn't hold my breath waiting to get money back from Saab. Unfortunately, Saab USA's customer service is HORRIBLE. I had an issue where a dealer charged me for some work, which should have been covered under the CPO warranty. They told me it was up to me to rectify the situation with the dealer. I told them this is my third Saab and this would be the last Saab I'll ever own.
It's a shame a company can't take care of their customers properly. It's also a shame the whole GM thing has leaked into the cars. Honestly, I've been less than impressed (overall) with the new 9-3s. Yes, they handle better but it's got the same kind of confusing interface for the computer/stereo GM is known for. I'm afraid this will creep into the new 9-5s as well. You shouldn't have to pull your car to the side of the road to change radio stations for fear of getting into an accident due to a horrible user interface!
Funny thing is my 01 9-5 SE just had a DIC die. They covered it under the CPO warranty. Towing was covered. Had a great experience with their roadside assitance. I'd never had to use them with my other 2 Saabs. At least that experience was pleasant...
I've loved my Saabs so far but can't deal with a company who cares so little about their customers...
