I know this sounds crazy but I tried it twice. My wife's '00 9-5 Wagon was not getting sound out of the rear door & center dash speakers, the startup volume was set to 3 (I found out that if you cranked the volume up while driving sound did come out of those speakers) but when I set the startup volume to 24 you can hear sound without having to blast the stereo. I reset it back to 3 and the problem was there again . . . I then set it to 9 (some say this is what the car was shipped with?) . . . and the sound did come out of all speakers BUT I think the sound is best with it set to 24 . . . my wife can't tell the difference between 9 and 24 but I can.
