a) There will be no AWD on the current 9-5
b) One gets used to the steering and it's much better on the 2002 model
c) Remind you, a Aero has more torque then a brand new M3
d) There is nothing easier to catch then a FWD car that oversteers...
just stay on power and countersteer.
e) Not sure what Turbo lag you refer to... the turbo kicks in
at 1500 rpm at gives full boost at 1900 rpm... in 1st and 2nd the
engine torque is reduced to make things easier for FWD... as to
twin Turbo engines... not worth the trouble and those don't give
you 20PSI at altitude.
I drive a 2000 Aero with a 260Hp kit from Hirsch, which has
kits up to 340Hp for the Aero. My experience is that only
the M3 and M5, S4, S6 are quicker on the Autobahn... unless
you have a 340Hp Aero... cause then only the M3 is faster.
The skid pad figures wary and depend on the tires. They
go from 0.82 to 0.88g or more if you use high performance
tires. Pretty much the same thing then for a 540... By
definition a FWD car is slower to around 40Mph where traction
builds up for the FWD car... above that... no advantage being
in a RWD car.
The SAAB engine is designed to be run full power, full boost
for more then 600 hours... about twice what a BMW engine will do.
For the money the SAAB is a good value. Sure the 2002 Model is
in many ways better then the 1999-2001 Aeros.
Regards,
Coolknight
