I beg to differ. I've had several Honda Accords (the last one-a '99 traded for the wagon) had excellent storage space for anything. Under the center armrest of the '99 Accord, you could stash pens, etc as well as gas receipts-there's slots for coins too. Under that is a bin that can hold 8-10 CDs in the jewel boxes, small pack of Kleenex, etc etc. The center console bin underneath the radio could hold another dozen CDs in jewel cases and assorted stuff. There's a bin for your sunglasses between the visors above the rear view mirror. The front door pockets were long, so you could put a portable umbrealla as well as several maps, etc. The glove box is twice the size of the 9-5. There's another slideout drawer on the left of the dash under the vent for additional coin storage. In short, I can only put half of the stuff I had in the Accord in my 9-5.

That's just one example that I know of from my experience.

Alas, SAAB's tradition of the "key between the seats" is the problem-not the "modern car" design as you suggest. The "key in the center console" just steals potential, useful storage space.

Another commented that the 9k had great storage space, and it does-why? Key's in the dash, not the center console.

If SAAB had put in an elevated center armrest that doubled as a storage bin and had a decent coin holder in the 9-5 rather than the useless to most people slideout stub that poses as an armrest, then we wouldn't complain as much.

At least I wouldn't. If you think the 9-5 has bad interior storage, the NG900/93 is worse to a certain extent. If nothing else-at least *it* has a decent coin holder.

I do, however-like the side and floor storage compartments in the back of the wagon. Comes in handy.
