Bill: The seat heater controls are illuminated. Regarding wheels and tires,It is my understanding that all 9-5 s have minimum 16 inch wheels and tires. Perhaps some non US markets could differ, but I doubt it, since the wheel size must be adequate for clearance around the disc and caliper of the brakes.
Your best bet on fuel econ is just monitor tire pressures. For reference, my 99-2.3 liter manual(yuk) shift gets about 29 mpg average, and will always return at least 34 on the highway. mileage can vary with atmospheric conditions and season. Winter blend fuels in the northeast loose about 2 MPG. Leaving a roof rack on the car can easily eat up 1-2 MPG at highway speeds,Windows down with A/C off will also hurt more than windows up and A/C on. Just wondering what kind of mileage you are gettnig that would have motivated you to look at extreme solutions like swapping tires?
