Same here, tho I looked at the sedans, not the wagons. Based on pricing (at least here in DC), the 9-5 Aero is cheaper than the (lower performing) Audi A6 3.0, but the Aero's performance is more like the 2.7T's, which costs (literally) thousands more. I test drove both cars in the rain, and the Quattro was nice, but I did not notice a big difference between it and the Aero. Not enough snow here to make that a factor for me. Big difference in gas mileage, which for environmental and cost/hassle reasons is important to me -- Aero is 20 mpg city and 29 highway; A6's all wheel drive yields much lower 17/26. The interior is more spacious in the A6, but I ran into little fit and finish issues in each A6 I sat in. I had no such problems with the 9-5's. Combine that with the fact that a friend had a real problem with his 2001 A6 -- the dealer finally replaced it under our lemon laws, and the second car has problems, too -- and I decided to go for the cheaper, better performing Saab. But it was a difficult decision -- based on what I saw either way the chances are good that you're going to get a great car.
