1st what I was told from the majority of people here and my dealer - is that if you do a lot of short trips, stop and go driving - extremem weather conditions, it is recommended to change the oil ever 5K miles.

second, on my old 9000T, my original Factory Turbo was going strong at 200,000 miles when my Automatic Transmission finally gave up the ghost.

If you follow what has been said here on the board regarding idling the engine for at least 30 seconds after you have driven the car and letting the engine warm up (regular driving), before you really step it down - you should have a Turbo that will out last the transmission!
