I cannot possibly imagine that the saturn computer would know what to do with the Saab DI system. And moreover, since all computer systems are connected to one another, and you need to 'marry' an ecu computer to the specific car, chances it's going to work are close to zero imo. I think you would just end up with a CEL list of more tha a foot in length and a car failing to start. DICE and TWICE will be seriously confused.
On the other hand I also do not think the saab trionic ecu would have sufficient adaptability to overcome the lack of the turbo. The turbo is not an add-on! the whole system was designed as one piece.
At least: check the standard compression ratios of the engine with and without turbo.
My advice: DON'T do it! you risk seriously damaging your car, and consider this as well: everything else that will go wrong/ needs maintenance on the drivetrain of your car will be virtually inrepairable since normal diagnostics will be seriously messed up. A dealer will not touch it anymore, probably, and resale value ( if that is important to you) will be affected by a much higher amount than you will save now. The car will be virtually unsellable.
Sorry if I sound very negative, but I just want to warn you. Modern automotive technology is not that simple so that you can drop in another manifold and say 'that settles it' .
Hope you make the right decision.
