It's on the CPO checklist - it says something like, "Check for presence of keys and remotes..." Not one, but 2.
I bought a CPO'd Aero a few years ago - I had done my research, and it was and has proved to be an exceptional Saab. When I went to pick it up (90 miles away with the family in tow in our 9-5 wagon...) the idiot salesman tried to get away with the one-key delivery. Well, I wanted the car, and I didn't feel like arguing with the guy. A day or two later I called Saab USA and complained. It took about 10 minutes for them to verify that I was due a second key/remote, to be shipped to me overnight, with free programming at my local dealer.
I also got an apologetic phone call from the owner of the selling dealership, and a VERY apologetic call from the idiot that tried to stiff me on the 2nd key. As we all know, NOT having a spare key for a 9-5 is a recipe for a very expensive repair should you ever lose the only key.
I'm certain Saab USA will reimburse you for that 2nd key - make the inquiry!
