Even if this unit physically fits in the slot you mentioned,it does not deliver it's output signal to the stock Saab radio via a direct DC connection, therefore, a lot of the benefits of XM are lost. Aftermarket XM upgrades right now consist of taking the XM receiver's audio signal and either delivering it to the radio via FM modulation ,or via the tape cassette slot, where it is coupled into the tape head in a similar fashion. With either of those solutions, you will not get the CD quality audio that XM is noted for. All you get is the 100 stations anywhere you drive. Nice, but in my opinion,it will be worth waiting for Saab to install an XM compatable radio.
You could take out your factory SAab radio now and have a XM compatable radio installed in it's place, but odds are it would look like an afterthought, and you wouild also loose the integration of the radio with the steering wheel controls and the telephone system.
