The V6 is 200 horsepower and 230 torque happening in more upper rpm ranges than the Aero model, and typically not driven the same way as Aero drivers might drive, hence the weaker 4-speed automatic transmission might be just perfect for that V6 model. BTW, reputable tuners such as "Nordic" through "Genuine Saab" scales down the power for 4-speed equiped auto-transmissions because they can't handle all the power. The 5-speed automatic version they came out with in 2003, or so? can and does hold all the power and torque of the Manual 5-speed. That should say something right there.
