If I understand this thread correctly, Saab Cars USA did what they could when there customers needed answers! You point out that cell phone technology changes quickly, but the SI that Saab USA published almost two years ago has helped out COUNTLESS customers.
Why does Saab USA spend their resources this way? Because they have to! You need to understand that in the US we have four year warranties and a legal system that allows a mother to sue her own son! In this environment, companies protect themselves in every possible way to 1)make the ownership experience is as hassle-free as possible and 2)keep themselves out of hot water.
I am the service manager at a Saab franchise in the NE and we were blessed with the information from SCUSA. We have started our own cell phone business to service our customers using the SCUSA info. I'm investigating the information you've posted and find the phones that you've listed a VERY rare commodity in the US.
FWIW, I had an Ericsson FD88 that was very troublesome! Frankly, I'm glad that SCUSA found the Nokia compatibility here in the US. I shudder to think what my phone calls would sound like had I installed Ericsson phones in my customer's cars. Perhaps their quality has improved.... then again, maybe Hyuandai's quality has too....
