Intermittent battery light after alternator replacement

Referencing my earlier post below, I had the alternator replaced in my 2004 Aero Wagon. The shop had the car running for over an hour to charge the battery (which had died that morning), but when I started the car, the battery light came on in the dash with the alert exclamation point.
They put the car back on the lift to check the connections, tested the battery (which tested fine), and we decided to give it a week to disappear. However, it's been coming on at least once a day, not when the car is cold, but after starting the car while it's warm. If I simply touch the accelerator in neutral, the light instantly disappears.
There's no other issues I'm noticing -- I've cranked the seat warmers, fan, radio, brights, defroster, you name it, and the car handles them well, and no issues while driving either.
Has anyone experienced this and have it eventually disappear after replacing an alternator? The shop has the car today and is testing the battery again (which is still under warranty, an Interstate I bought last year), and checking the voltage as well. I have a feeling they're going to start by replacing the battery under warranty, but I suspect that the remanufactured alternator may be the culprit?
Prior to replacing the old alternator (and seeing the post below for more info), the alternator was actually putting out too much voltage (16+V when running) -- is it possible there's damage to the ECU? I caught it quite early, and there's nothing else wrong with the car.
