My immobilizer should not be active. I unlocked the car with the remote and was not able to rearm the system. The LED being solid seems to indicate that the system is not armed. I'm not by the car again. Can you try removing the battery from a key and then replacing it. Maybe that will allow the key to resync with the TWICE unit. I forget the exact procedure there, but it's something like pressing the lock button many times. I'm not sure why the key on then remote button press override isn't working for us. Does it matter which button is pressed or exactly when. Also odd, I was able to once start the car to move it slightly when this first happened. Maybe TWICE wasn't fully dead yet. Do you think something shorted out or permanently locked. Can a dealer reset the TWICE to our cars?
"If a key transponder is used which is NOT
recognized by TWICE, the engine will not start,
and the message "KEY NOT ACCEPTED" will
be displayed on SID.
In the event of a fault occurring in the receiver or
transponder, the remote control can be used to
mobilize the car. If the driver turns the key to the
ON position, then presses a button on the
remote, the car will start." -p100.
"The LED is located on top of the dashboard and
receives its power supply from TWICE.
It is used to indicate the status of the theft
protection:
• Double flash indicates that the car has been
immobilized
• One flash every two seconds indicates that
the anti-theft alarm is armed
• Rapid flashing during the delay period
indicates that an error has occurred, e.g., a
door is open
• A continuous light during the delay period
indicates that everything is OK" -p102.
"If for some reason, the remote is inoperative
(dead battery, for example) the alarm will be
disarmed when the key is turned in the ignition
and the correct identification code from the
transponder is received." -p102.
