The drivers seat is out, but will try the other seats. The locks are not working 100% They will unlock but not lock. I will try the remote trunk button. There is no LED light. No matter what I do I am getting the P1460 code on the ECU.........
100% for sure, the new TWICE HAS to be mated and the old keys need to be mated to the new TWICE. So, when you get a twice it HAS to have at least one MATED key that comes with it. I have seen some on ebay without keys and as far as I know these are junk. The whole idea here was that if you steal the car without a key, the car will not run unless it is mated with a new part and keys (costly). I guess when the cars were new this could be done, but then you would also have to have a GM TECH II with CANDI and SAAB Card. These were very costly (5-6-10K) at the time. Now you can pickup for $500-$2k. I am still debating picking one up since I have > 1 9-5, but still a bunch of dollars.
1) Obtain a TWICE module WITH at least one Mated Key, probably used
2) Install the new TWICE module under the seat
3) Take to dealer / indy with a TECH II / Saab and all keys, new and old
4) Have them mate the TWICE module and also program your old keys to the TWICE
5) Store the "new" key(s) (got with TWICE) with the wrong key cut in a safe place
6) User the old keys with the car
I had hoped never to do this. Usually this is done when people loose all of their keys and or there are no working keys mated to the TWICE module. Then they have to do other tricks. Order a cut key and mate that one with the new TWICE, or replace the tumbler and door locks with the ones from the used car and keys.
If you find ANY information the the new TWICE does not have to be mated, please let me know but that is not my understanding right now.
Bottom line, STUPID SANDY :-)
