Every car breaks down no matter what it is. But a Saab means $$ in the eyes of a mechanic and will double charge you for work they do to it unless you find a great independent Saab shop. Saabs have specific issues at certain mileage mostly when the car hits 100,000 miles your looking at a IDM replacement, throttle body, fuel pump, all of which cost a ton just for the part. The cheapest I found a oem throttle body was for 280$ the mechanic would charge 500 minimum just for the part, the IDM is in upwards of 300$ mechanic would charge another 500, fuel pump 280 mechanic 500 all these items are expected to fail at 100,000 miles that's not including bushing that may fail, shocks, it can get overwhelming, but as a Saab driver you have the option of taking advantage of or being taken advantage of. Meaning 45min and 280 I replaced my throttle body while other will not work on their car no matter what and pay a mechanic 750 for the same job, the car can quickly be labeled a money pit, or not its all about the owner of the car. On top of all this I'm hearing the auto tran's will fail at around 120,000 and that's 2500$
