I drove both the 1.8t Passat and the V6. Owned an Audi A6 Avant with V6 (new body style, 193 hp) and now have 9-5 Wagon with 2.3 lpt. The 1.8t Passat may be similar hp to the Saab 2.3, but torque is not even close. The 1.8t needs to be caned to go fast, the Saab just goes. The V6 is a dog unless you're running at German autobahn speeds beyond 85 mph, then it's great. Not to mention/forget safety. The Passat, nor the Audi, does not do as well as the Saab in real world crashes or European market crash tests. Go back a day or two on this BB and you can find the Euro crash test results.
