I just did this following the simple procedure I found online. You need the special tool or forget it. Mine was rusting so badly it was leaking (go figure based on location and driving in Toronto. Can't remember if I bother to pull the fuse (had pressure release through the rusted filter). PITA to get the "quick connect" disconnected. Like everything else I do, did not find a mention of the pipe breaking off the filter due to rust! Figured I was really screwed at that point but more fiddling with blue tool and it came off. Putting on seemed not secure, but no problems so far. Think the banjo bolts would have been a snap...
