We have a few Aeros on the road all with the McKay hose which eliminates the heater bypass valve. All in So Cal and we have great a/c temps in these cars.
Only USA cars have the heater control valve. ROW cars do not.
as I said it only works with the ACC is on LO.
sounds like you are on the right path with the temp sesor.
