They are (and feel) MUCH bigger than what you're driving. Start there and make sure you're not buying one just for nostalgia. As Snowmobile said, you could scratch that itch more cheaply with a late model 9-3 sedan (or even one of the last of the OG 9-5), for which parts will not be an issue, and may be more fun for you. The NG 9-5 was intended to compete with the 5 series, A6, Volvo S80, etc. However close it may have approached the midsize German luxury cars, it's just such a far cry from the Swedish Saabs. I was seriously considering the same move a few years ago, but I ultimately just didn't like the car as much as I wanted to. My favorite parts of the car were the seats, the exterior lines, and the badge. That just wasn't enough to get me out of two OG 9-5s!
