My frineds and I "borrowed" a little Datsun pick-up (that should be a time frame clue) that belonged to a co-worker of their Dad's who went back to Colorado to visit friends. The Dad was to watch over the vehicle, but when the cat's away............
We taught ourselves how to drive a stick, downshifting around corners taken too fast, leaving rubber away from every stop light, etc.
I wonder what ever happened to that truck later?
I later taught my wife, while my fiance, to drive my 1979 Trans-Am equipped with the High-performance engine, narrow gate shifter, and leg killer clutch. She learned fast, but forgot it all again later. Never could get the hang of my '84 S-10 with a stick.
