Does your vehicle have ABS+EBD+TCS etc. That package should prevent such things, but at those speeds, the dynamics can have a mind of there own. Did you also introduct a sudden change to the steering wheel?
I expect that the same circunstances would create more trouble is most vehicles.
If you hit the brakes hard and sudden, there will be a weight transfer onto the front axle. This can uload the back tires and then they will cannot deliver much traction. Smooth inputs to brakes and steering are very important at high speeds. If you were in a curve, then the lateral traction of the rear tires may have been exceeded and ABS or anything else will have trouble with that!
Are the tires properly inflated. If the temperatures are dropping then the tires may be needing topping up.
