My neighbors '99 Mercedes E320 purchased for over $52k. Tried to trade it on a Merc E320 4 matic wagon at over $60k about 18 months later. His silver sedan was PERFECT, low miles...the dealer offered $32,500 on trade last year, giving him $650 off MSRP on the wagon! I had a '99 Audi A6 Avant that I wanted out of at the two year mark. 45k miles on a $42k car. High miles, but absolutely immaculate. Offers from 2 Audi dealers and a VW dealer were 19.5k, 20k and 20k. Yes Saabs depreciate, but so do others... a lot. If you are truly a buyer and not a leaser, look for a good, slightly used car or take advantage of year end deals from Saab on a new 2001.
