A4 1.8T feels much slower too!

I test drove an A4 1.8 T Quattro and was appalled at the amount of time the car's turbo took to spool up. Only 15 horses less than my 9-5LPT but the lag time was considerably longer. Also didn't have nearly as good low rpm torque as the LPT. Add to that a claustrophobic interior space, and the fact that they still aren't offering incentives (even with a radically new body style for '02), and the 9-5 is a much better choice for nearly the same amount of money.
