Paul,
I agree with you on one point, Ann is an excellent Service Rep. The best I have encountered with any dealer. Her Customer Service Rating with Cadillac has her in the top 5% nationally. The sales people you talked to probably came from Santa Monica Saab, also a family run dealership. The family owns a Mercedes dealership (as opposed to Cadillac) and really knows how to treat a customer (they have to because they are on the Westside where people have high expectations). I used to go to Studio City Saab/Vovlo where I could get my wife's Vovlo serviced and my Saab. I may not have bought a Saab had I not driven the S80 and 9/5 back to back. That would never happen at a Cadillac dealership, as I would never buy a Cadillac. Heck, neither is the rest of America. Lincoln passed Cadillac a few years ago with the Navigator. And Cadillac could have had the first strike, they were going to drop a Northstar engine in a SUV in the mid-nineties, but instead opted to develop an Oldsmobile SUV only later to abandon Olds. Leave it to GM to screw it up. Yes I know Escalades are doing well, but I would get the Tahoe for 20k less since its the same. Saab/Volvo dealerships have synergies. Saab/Land Rover to some degree also. But Saab/Cadillac, never. Heck the Catera has the same engine as the Saab 9/5 six cylinder sans the turbo, but you would never know it.
FYI-The Saab sales reps don't like the Cadillac Reps, and I'm sure the converse is true. Neither wants to sell the other's car. As for the Saab Reps, I can understand why.
