This is just a shot in the dark here... It sounds like the basic ssytems work when the load is low, but that there is not enough spark energy when the load is high. It may be the coil. It is above the radiator and is temperature sensitive (to a degree). Remove the coil wire and look at it. Is it all arc'ed up? Is it oozing fluid? Another possibility is the coil wire which may be arc'ing to the radiator hose when it gets warm. Mine needs to be replaced (Magnecor is what I will be getting) because I get a light shock when I grab it while the car is running. (I do not advocate this as a check as it can be dangerous, just look at it while the car is running at night and you should be able to see spark jumping around to any available ground, hose, body, etc) How old are the plug wires?
