Not true. O2 sensor threads are different. My 8 valve 900 which has a 3 wire sensor, has a slightly smaller diameter than the 3 wire sensor that my 16 valve engine uses. I originally thought that they were the same and got a 3 wire sensor for a 16v starting to thread in to the 8v exhaust manifold and luckily I stopped before something bad happened. They have different part numbers too. So- Not all Bosch 3 wire sensors are created equal.
And while I'm at it, I'm not trying to sound cocky or anything, but I strongly advocate using the right parts for the job. Often times DIY projects become a disaster because people try to cut corners and use different parts that were not intended for their vehicle. After all, you wouldn't put a Chrysler alternator (even if you could get it to work) in your Saab, would you ? Just my $0.02 though.
