Was starting to remove the AIC and when I pulled off the elect plug the plastic tubing that covers the wires felt very hard and brittle. Decided to cut it off and after also removing the rubber boot over the plug discovered that the insulation of two wires had just disinegraded exposing the strands - insulated by using electrical tape and re-installed -- while under the hood also checked the idle switch which was worse -two wire were bare and twisted together - fixed that also. Then pulled of all of the injector, cold start and knock sensor plugs -- they all seemed OK but extremely corroded -- cleaned each the best I could and re-installed .. The car ( for now anyways) runs good with the idle again at 850 where it should be.
